When we email the Contact Group but it doesn't appear in Auto-Complete after that. I deleted the name from the To field, retyped and the correct email/name appeared. I deleted all but one of the links (you have to have at least one) leaving only the named contact from Contacts (not Recipient Cache) and clicked OK. In one instance, there were multiple entries of the same wrong person even though there is only one entry in my Contacts. Then click on the 3-dots. In the list, the entries there are related. The additional delay provides the Link Contacts option in the 3-dots menu.

It deletes entries in 'Recent People', but not the entries in 'Other Suggestions' that are still wrong. And the mismatched names and email addresses are people from the same organisation. For me, the issue is only for names in my Contacts list, not in my corporate GAL.
